Live Painting On Leather for COACH!

One of the most efficient marketing strategies I have seen being applied by big brand/ retail shops is by offering to the customer customization or personalization on their purchased items. I recently had the opportunity to work with Coach and be part of their brand activation event where I was hired to customize leather items with monograms and illustrated motifs.

A lot of artists have asked, how did you get to work with such a big client? First of all, the client reached out and found me online via Instagram.

WORKING PROCESS

Once the client reached out, we worked on creating different illustrated motifs to add to the customization menu for the event. The client approved and chose the motifs that they liked best and I proceeded to send the vector files in Adobe Illustrator for them to create the menu.

MATERIALS

For this project, I used Angelous Leather Paint as well as a variety of detailed paint brushes. Other materials include white watercolor pencil, Q-tips, paper towels, water, rubbing alcohol…

The event was a success! It caught a great interest among the shoppers and I wish I have had more time to customize more items. I realized people really love all things handmade, a lot of shoppers stopped by just to capture videos of me painting and to share all over social media.

Recently, I worked for Coach (Re) Loved Pop-up event in Orange County where I customized leather bags. This is something that I enjoy doing and at the same time it helps with brand awareness.
